CHICAGO (November 2011) – An upcoming fundraiser for children residing in the Maranatha Orphanage and School in Source Matelas, Haiti, will give them a Christmas they will remember forever.
Life for the World, a Hammond-based non-profit focused on giving hope and healing to Haiti, will hold their 2011 annual fundraiser, “A Night for Haiti,” in Chicago on December 2, 2011 from 7 until 10 p.m. at Lumen Nightclub in the West Loop – just in time for the holidays.
The organization hopes to raise enough money to be able to provide the orphans with an unforgettable Christmas.
Life for the World has operated the orphanage since 2001. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the 150 children, from three years old to 15, who reside and are schooled there.
Guests will be able to enjoy a live and silent auction and raffle, catered hors d’oeuvres provided by Pure Kitchen Catering, open bar with premium liquor, a wine tasting, and live Haitian entertainment. Tickets will be sold online for $75 online at http://www.tinyurl.com/lftwevent
Our silent and live auction will feature custom Haitian art and sculptures, Chicago sports team memorabilia, and gift certificates from four-star restaurants and beauty salons.
This event comes at a time when Life for the World needs its supporters’ help the most. With the economic downfall in recent years, the organization , like many non-profits right now, is struggling to survive.
We would also like to invite you to come out and cover the event. If you would like to come and take photos, and have a Q&A with our founder, Michael Fedele, we would really appreciate it and so would the children.
We would also like to add that Life for the World is dedicated to helping the local homeless. Volunteers from the organization will spend their third year this Thanksgiving providing food and comfort to the homeless in Lower Wacker.
Lastly, we would like to thank Lumen Nightclub, along with sponsors, Pure Kitchen Catering, Sun Times Media, RH Francis Photography, DuChamp Chicago, the Trunk Club and Isella Designs.
Thank you for your time.
